Class mentioning Hitler raises controversy at LLC

ATLANTA — The leather community was rocked this week after a class at Leather Leadership Conference (LLC) 22 included references to Hitler and Genghis Khan in the course description.

The class description got a lot of attention after author Laura Antoniou, originally the keynote speaker, wrote an open letter denouncing the class and saying that she could not support an event with such a class. Since then, other attendees, presenters and vendors have said they will no longer attend the event in Atlanta next year.

Minnesota health officials call for push to end HIV/AIDS

ST. PAUL — As World AIDS Day approaches, state health officials are calling for renewed passion and dedication in the fight to end HIV in Minnesota.

“We have the tools to end HIV in Minnesota,” said Minnesota Health Commissioner Dr. Ed Ehlinger. “New interventions, such as early, sustained HIV treatment and pre-exposure preventive drugs, are highly effective at preventing HIV. We are committed to working with our communities that have disproportionate rates of HIV to reduce barriers to HIV prevention, testing and care.”

LA&M announces opportunities to meet executive director finalists
