Tim Koski named Mr. Michigan Leather

DOUGLAS, Mich. — Tim Koski has been named Mr. Michigan Leather 2018.

Bryon Hayes, a producer for the Mr. Michigan Leather contest, said on the MML Facebook group that Erwin Willhite, Mr. Michigan Leather 2018, had to step away from the title for personal reasons. 

Koski won the Leather Brotherhood Award at Mr. Michigan Leather contest held at The Dunes Resort in Douglas, Mich., in September 2017.

Shameless Grounds looking for break-in suspects

ST. LOUIS — Shameless Grounds, a kink-friendly coffeehouse in St. Louis, was the victim of a break-in on Dec. 28.

In a post on their Facebook page, Shameless Grounds said two thieves broke into the business after closing on Dec. 28. The thieves stole the 100 pound safe that held $1,300 in drawer money, cash reserves, a bit of payroll, and employees tips. The safe itself was worth $400.

However, the security camera did get footage of the two thieves. The business is asking the community for help in identifying the suspects.

Committee endorses Gary Wasdin for LA&M executive director

CHICAGO — The selection committee for the Leather Archives & Museum has recommended Gary Wasdin for the vacant executive director position.

The LA&M made the announcement in an early Saturday morning post both on social media and in an email press release.

The full LA&M board will consider final approval at its December 10 virtual meeting.

Class mentioning Hitler raises controversy at LLC

ATLANTA — The leather community was rocked this week after a class at Leather Leadership Conference (LLC) 22 included references to Hitler and Genghis Khan in the course description.

The class description got a lot of attention after author Laura Antoniou, originally the keynote speaker, wrote an open letter denouncing the class and saying that she could not support an event with such a class. Since then, other attendees, presenters and vendors have said they will no longer attend the event in Atlanta next year.
