ATLANTA — TeeTee Dangerfield has become the 16th trans person killed in the U.S. in 2017. The majority of them have been people of color.

From Gay Star News:

She was found with multiple gunshot wounds outside of her vehicle at the South Hampton Estates apartment complex on 31 July at 4.30am.

Major Lance Patterson told Georgia Voice that College Park Fire Rescue took Dangerfield to Grady Memorial Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

The family has also been notified.

There are no suspects at this time.

‘Detectives are out there right now following up on leads that have been coming in since then,’ he said.

Police are currently not ruling out any possible motive, including that it was a transphobic murder.

Two days before her death, a march protesting a proposed policy of banning trans people from the military had taken place.
